10. Lesson Attendance Policies
Cancellation and Rescheduling
Please inform Acadex at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Late notice made less than 24 hours will result in Acadex still charging the set hourly rate needed for the lesson.
Service Continuity
Students and tutors can set flexible lesson times, but students who take more than a 14-day break without prior notice risk losing their spot to new students. This remains also at the discretion of the Tutor and Acadex. You're welcome to continue tutoring over the holidays. Though, please inform your tutor before you choose to go on break and when you would like to resume lessons.
Late Arrival
If a student is over 15 minutes late without notice, the tutor may cancel the lesson, and the total lesson amount is taken by Acadex. If a student is late but the lesson proceeds, the original scheduled time will be billed.
Once a lesson has been arranged, Acadex, acting as the Agent of the Tutor, considers this booking to be final, subject to this cancellation policy. That is, the Student agrees to pay for the arranged lesson unless specified otherwise in this document.
A lesson being arranged means that there is a mutual agreement between both the Student and the Tutor in regards to a commencement time for which the lesson should begin - this agreement can be verbal or written. The Student must notify the Tutor immediately if there is to be a change to the regular schedule that was previously agreed upon.
11. Free Trial
New students may receive a free 15-minute consultation to assess compatibility with their assigned tutor or a 15-minute consultation with student and parents (if wanted) to communicate with the Acadex’s owners to learn and understand Acadex services and operations. This is a strategy session, not a lesson, designed to help both the tutor understand the student’s needs and for the student and parents to get to know the tutor and Acadex as tutoring service.
12. Lesson Continuity
Acadex enforces a ‘lesson continuity policy’ which promotes consistent progress by encouraging students to schedule at least one hour of tutoring weekly during the school term, to both assist themselves and maximise tutor availability. Students should notify their tutor if they plan to skip sessions and cannot make up for the 1 hour per week session in respect to Acadex’s Lesson continuity policy.
13. Academic Honesty
Acadex values academic honesty and thus will not participate in violating any of the academic policies outlined by the Student’s school/institution, this includes but is not limited to writing assignments for the Student and taking their exams for them.
14. Revisions to Terms
Acadex reserves the right to update these Terms or any relevant documents at any time, relevant to the business at our sole discretion - where the Student is bound by the then current version of the document. Students are encouraged to check Acadex’s terms and documents for updates regularly.
